Welcome to year three of my person Photo Blog. In this gallery you will see what I have been shooting pretty much each time I take the camera out. All these pictures may not be the best, sometimes you just don't come home with a keeper. The main goal of this gallery is to just make it easy for friends, family, and other visitors to follow what I have been up to thoughout the year of 2010.
I will try to write about each photo I post, and include a little background about the image, a link here and there, and camera settings at times.
Feel free to comment on images you like, or drop my email! There is a link to email me at the bottom of the page, just above the counter! Thanks
Jason Rearick
Nov. 8th, On the way to work, I found a nice foggy pier. It made for a few nice shots. I just wish there would have been more trees to capture the color in.
Nov. 6th, Took a camera walk with friends today. It was bright and sunny, and a little difficult to shoot in. These ducks made for some nice shots.
Oct. 21st, It was a cool evening, but perfect football weather. Chopticon made a bunch of great plays. This one was about a 15 yard TD pass to the wide side of the field. It surprised me how well I predicted where this play would go.
Sept. 18th, A southern Maryland tradition, a boat docking competition in Solomon's Island MD.
Sept 3rd, I got a few photos of the Blue Angels from my house on Saturday.
Sept 4th, Sunday was the big time fun! I got a chance to ride in the Blue Angels C130 called Fat Albert. This was an amazing ride, and we were in the air show.
August 20th, View from Pole Steeple hike. This place has an great view!
August 18th, Sachs Covered Bridge. This bridge was just outside Gettysburg, Pa. Very nice place, and makes for some nice images!
July 31st, Liberty Cup Jet Ski Racing in Colonial Beach, Va. Great time watching some fast action on the water.
4th July, While at a friends place, he showed me an osprey nest near by. It was very close to a boat launch and pier. The osprey seemed to be very comfortable with people walking near them, so I broke out the camera. These came out very nice, and I can't wait to stop by there again and shoot some more!
June 24th, While BSing at a friends house, they asked me to take a few shots for the newly born colt. I believe they said he was just 2 1/2 weeks old.
June 18th, The fasted motocross racers in the world hit the first turn at Budds Creek, MD for the AMA Motocross Nationals.
June 12rd, The last week I have been seeing lots of House Finches hanging around outside. This weekend I set up a feeder and started watching it with my camera. Good looking little birded, and they don't seem to afraid either.
June 3rd, I caught a few photos of a friend and her son. It was pretty funny, she wanted a kiss and he kept pulling away. This one he finally gave mom a kiss.
May 28th, It was a nice evening over at Solomon's Island this evening. Had a really nice time shooting with a friend, and enjoyed a nice dinner.
May 21st, Got some cool photos of the people in The Warrior Dash at Budds Creek, MD. It was a really cool event, check it out on the Warrior Dash website!
May 14th, A friend took me to Kreger Museum, and Georgetown for the first time. Nice place to grab some photos, food, and a drink. Highly recommended!
May 10th, Stopped by the Air Museum just outside the base today. Decided to try a few photos. With a little more time, and some better light, I think I could get some cool shots in there!
May 5th, Took a little walk at lunch today with the camera. It was bright and not really the best conditions for taking photos. I did end up with a few shots that I liked. For some reason Osprey's like to build nests on top of old duck blinds. This girl came in for a perfect landing!
April 17th, It was such a nice day out, I had to talk the camera for a walk. The flowers are looking very nice around the neighborhood. I broke out the 105 macro lense and got a couple shots, but the wind kept blowing the flowers around to much. This was about the best I could get with the wind.
April 5th, I picked up something new to shoot, other than a camera. Of course the first thing I had to do was get it into my lightbox for some photos. It was a fun and quick shoot!!
March 16th, It was so nice thisevening I couldn't not take the camera out. When I got home from work the sun was out with some clouds still around. It was just about golden hour when I walked out of the house to head to the little pond. The clouds had rolled in and covered the entire sky. At that point I figured, oh well I wasn't going to see much anyway. I walked the path through the wood and came out to the pond and I see this big guy. When I started working my way around the pond to try to get closer, he flies almost right to me. Had to turn the ISO up a little and fought with the shutter speed, but I like the result. I hope others enjoy too.
March 12th, Wrestling Tournament at Patuxent HS.
2nd March, I decided to enjoy a little bit of the nice weather we were having today, and take the camera out. I just walked around close to home, but ran across this near the beach in the woods. I wanted to start working on finding images in things that may not jump out at you most times.
Feb 20th, I made a trip to Piney Point lighthouse for some sunset photos. It ended up being a little to cloudy and not a lot of color, but I did get a few good images.
Jan 30th, Here we go again.... It was a slow evening at home tonight, so I started the smoke up again. I didn't get as many results as I got the other nights. I think it was do to a little bit of a draft messing up my smoke.
Jan 29th, I really had fun looking at my results from yesterday of the smoke art. I decided to give it another try, and got some cool results.
Jan 28th, I finally have gotten started taking photos for the year. Winter is the worst time for me and my camera. I have to really think of stuff to shoot. I don't like the snow and cold enough to really get out and take photos. So what do you do..... I start looking at the internet for ideas to do inside. This is my first attempt at smoke art, and I enjoyed it more that I expected.
